Meet Diana
- Scullys' longest continuously serving Artisan -
Around 28 years ago, after working as a receptionist for 7 years at Harcourts real estate in Auckland, Diana – a Bulls native, decided on returning to her hometown for what she thought would be retirement. During this time, she joined forces with her brother who owned one of the biggest asparagus farms in the North Island.
Three years into her new chapter, Gerry Scully – the late founder of Scullys Lavender Products, visited Diana and asked her to join the team part-time, specialising in crafting hand-sewn lavender relief packs and sachets. Diana may well have been the pioneer of working from home, as that was her one condition for joining – a testament to her craft as Gerry agreed without hesitation.
Now, at 83 years young, Diana continues to create beautiful handcrafted products for Scullys! These include our beloved eye pillows, soft baby white pillows, and traditional cloth mattress sachets which are available exclusively at our Bulls shop. She also crafts our signature Lavender Relief Packs, which still faithfully follow the same original fabric and design from over 20 years ago, bringing comfort to customers nationwide through our online store and select retailers.
In her spare time, Diana is an accomplished Mahjong player, competing around the country in national tournaments. You’ll find her every Tuesday at the local Mahjong club, and without fail, she still makes time to catch up with our factory team afterwards, often delighting us with her homemade treats.

“Of course not! I love Scullys, and I still have something to contribute.”
Diana’s dedication to crafting beautiful hand-sewn products for our loyal customers is a testament to the care and attention to detail that Scullys has always stood for.
We invite you to visit our beautiful flagship store in Bulls, located right in the centre of town. Not only will you find all of Diana’s hand-crafted treasures and our full range of products here, but you’ll also discover a little piece of Bulls history – our store is housed in a building that’s over 100 years old and previously served as the old town court house.
Whether you’re passing through for the first time or you’re a long-time supporter of Scullys, we can’t wait to welcome you.
